Mobile App Privacy Policy

Who we are
ClubUp Caddy LLC provides the ClubUp Caddy Android app and optional Wear OS companion. This policy covers the mobile app and related support. It applies to the launch version with automatic crash reporting disabled. Privacy contact: [email protected]. The website and launch-notification list have a separate website privacy policy.
Golf records on your device
The app stores player names and local profile identifiers, clubs and distances, rounds, scores, shot positions and times, and preferences on your device. It uses these records for yardages, scoring, shot tracking, club suggestions and round history. No ClubUp Caddy online account is required, and the app does not upload your golf records to a ClubUp Caddy account server.
Location and motion
With permission, the app uses precise location to calculate yardages and record shots. During an active round, location tracking can continue with the screen off through an Android foreground service and notification. The optional watch uses location and motion sensors for yardages and swing detection. You can revoke permissions in phone or watch settings; features that need them will become unavailable or less accurate.
Phone and watch exchange
The companion exchanges player name and local identifier, course and hole, scores, club choices, yardages, location fixes and detected shots with your paired devices as needed for its features. This uses Google Play services Wearable Data Layer. Transfers use encrypted Bluetooth when available; Google may relay them through its cloud when Bluetooth is unavailable, using end-to-end encryption. ClubUp Caddy does not receive a server copy of that exchange. Motion diagnostic files can remain on the watch.
Weather and elevation requests
Online weather and elevation are off by default. You can enable them in Settings after reviewing the disclosure and turn them off there to stop new requests. Requests already sent cannot be recalled. When enabled, these features send HTTPS requests to the US National Weather Service (NWS) and US Geological Survey (USGS). Requests include selected course coordinates, which can indicate the course you are playing, and normal connection information such as your IP address, request time and requested resource. Requests do not include saved player names, scorecards or shot history. These providers use request information to deliver, operate and analyze their services and protect their systems. Their own privacy policies govern logs and retention. We do not promise that processing is temporary or that we can erase their logs.
Diagnostics
Automatic crash reporting to Sentry is disabled for launch. The app may keep local diagnostic files containing course, position, weather or motion information for troubleshooting. They are not automatically sent to ClubUp Caddy. Review files before choosing to export or send them. Google, Android and your device manufacturer may separately process platform diagnostics under your device and account settings.
Backups and exports
Android backup and device transfer may copy app data according to your device and account settings. ClubUp Caddy does not operate an online backup account for you. Exports may contain profiles, rounds, scores, shots and settings. If you choose to share an export, the recipient or service handles its copy under its own practices.
Purchases and support
Google Play handles purchases and payment details under its own terms and policy; the app does not ask for card or bank details. We may receive transaction and financial records through Google Play to administer sales, refunds and accounting. If you email [email protected], we receive your address, message and any attachments and use them to answer you and resolve the issue. Our business email uses Google Workspace. We may disclose information we hold when required by law or necessary to protect legal rights. We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising. The app has no ads or behavioral marketing SDK.
Retention and deletion
Local records remain until you delete them, clear app storage or remove the app, subject to Android backup and restore behavior. To remove all local phone records, open Android Settings, Apps, ClubUp Caddy, Storage, Clear storage; wording varies by device. Clear watch app storage separately. Manage backups, exports and shared copies separately. Clearing storage is irreversible unless you have a usable backup. We cannot remotely access or erase records stored only on your devices. Email [email protected] to request access, correction or deletion of support messages or other information you provided to us. We retain this information only as needed to handle the request, maintain necessary business records, resolve disputes or meet legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it when no longer needed. Third-party service logs and purchase records follow the providers’ policies and retention requirements.
Security and choices
The app uses Android app storage protections, HTTPS for weather and elevation requests, and the Wearable Data Layer protections described above. Protect devices with a screen lock and take care with unencrypted exports. No system guarantees absolute security. You control location permissions, watch pairing, device backup and what you choose to share. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. Age audience and international processing
ClubUp Caddy is intended for people aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, contact us so we can address it and delete information we should not hold. ClubUp Caddy operates from the United States. Support and external services may process information in the United States or other places where providers operate.
Changes and contact
